Development of synergies between energy, environment and development
Today we can no longer address the central issues related to the development of a country without taking into account the new paradigms that define the territory as a space for the organization of natural resources and its vulnerability to climate change. Thus, to efficiently implement policies at local, regional and national levels, Enda Energie recommends a territorial approach to sustainable development.
On the path of the “Energy – climate – development” package, Enda Energie advocates both the deployment of clean, modern and decentralized energy systems likely to accelerate the energy transition and decentralized energy governance at the territorial level.
This requires rethinking development in a context of multiple crises and has motivated Enda Énergie to establish:
First, more holistic approaches based on the integration of cross-cutting dimensions (energy, climate change and gender) in development planning, through tools and methods of action.
Then, capacity building processes for decision-makers in the development of investment policy options that are more sensitive to climate change and the selection of appropriate technologies for adaptation and mitigation with a view to technology transfer.
Facilitate the mobilization of the know-how of the diaspora to put them at the service of communities and populations;
Create decent and permanent green jobs for youth and women in agricultural value chains while training them in sustainable environmental management and solid waste management.
